To fence you will need the following equipment:
- Protective clothing: glove, mask, jacket, breaches and under plastron.
- Body wire.
- Wheel chair.
Protective equipment will need to be up to current safety standards. The fencing chair will need to conform to the rules laid down for wheelchair fencing.
Wheelchair fencing frames cost upwards of £1,200 however several clubs (see clubs list) and centres (notably Stoke Mandeville and Worcester University) around the country already have these. In the case that a club or centre is not locally available funding can be sought to meet the cost of the frame and associated equipment required.
